The combination of these technologies makes it possible for users to easily create a browser- based HMI/SCADA system using the embedded web server technology found in SoftPLC® based controllers and the tools found in SL-GMS J/Developer™ software.
SoftPLC Control Software offers reliable, deterministic programmable logic control in an industrial computer that provides both the real-time control found in “hard PLCs,” while also out-performing them in areas such as data handling, networking, and speed. SoftPLC provides the many benefits of open architecture, but unlike many other PC-based control software products, SoftPLC systems do not run on, or on top of, a Windows operating system.

SL-GMS J/Developer is ideal for developing high-performance, dynamic graphical user interfaces driven by real-time data. Users can create highly-compact Java applets, which are optimal for Internet or Intranet based HMI systems, and take advantage of Java’s cross-platform web-support. SL-GMS J/Developer provides an easy to use application framework for real-time data communications and user interaction with SoftPLC. Dynamic graphics change their appearance in response to information found in a SoftPLC data table. In addition to a robust set of objects, from graphs to switches, users can create their own custom dynamic graphics, which can be used for rapid prototyping and in a production environment. Both data monitoring and user input functions can be enhanced by the use of SL-GMS.
