Tokyo – September 1, 2004 (TeleManagement World, Asia Pacific) – SL Corporation, a leading provider of software solutions for the monitoring and display of real-time information, and Agilent Technologies Inc. today announced an agreement to allow Agilent to use SL’s software to develop a powerful Web-enabled graphical user interface for Agilent’s NETeXPERT network management system. This easy-to-use GUI will extend the powerful insights offered by NETeXPERT to service providers’ non-technical employees and their customers.
The GUI for NETeXPERT will help service providers enhance productivity by offering real-time visibility into information critical to their business. Agilent’s NETeXPERT-based operations support systems (OSSs) enable wireless, wireline and IP service providers to more rapidly deliver services and assure high service quality.
This powerful, user-friendly GUI will extend the information about networks, services and customers offered by NETeXPERT outside of the network and service operations centers and into the hands of related service-provider business functions, such as executive management, marketing and finance — and even to customers. This information is key to providing high-quality service, reducing fault-resolution times, reducing the cost of operations, and maintaining customer loyalty.
Agilent will market the new NETeXPERT GUI to its OSS client base. Agilent will extend SL’s Enterprise RTView display application to the Agilent NETeXPERT data server, providing NETeXPERT customers with Web-enabled GUIs. In addition, users of Agilent’s NETeXPERT visual agent can leverage their existing NETeXPERT investment by easily converting visual agent models into interactive, Web-enabled displays. SL has been supplying its SL-GMS display technology for the NETeXPERT product line for more than 10 years. This expanded licensing agreement will enable NETeXPERT users to easily migrate to Web-enabled displays that are viewed from a Web browser.
“In today’s business climate, service providers must offer increasingly high levels of support for their customers in the most cost-efficient ways possible,” said Ted Wilson, senior vice president at SL. “Agilent’s approach with the SL software solution will allow service providers to increase the effectiveness of their systems by delivering vital information to key parties that previously had no access to it.”
The new NETeXPERT GUI will also be compatible with the Agilent OSS Service Manager solution, providing a powerful Web-enabled dashboard solution that is easily configured to multiple sources of data, without programming.
